Snowmobile on the Cabin Creek Trails??

What's that all about? You've probably seen Kongsbergers using the snowmobile on race weekends to set up and take down the course, place trail markers at intersections, and bring supplies out to the feed station. But maybe you've noticed them also on non-race weekends and wondered what's going on. Kongsberger has a dedicated year-round volunteer trail work crew that has been trained in safely operating the snowmobile (no joy-riding going on here!) and they will take the snowmobile out as needed to ferry equipment to remove down and leaning trees, thus saving the groomer's grooming budget for actual grooming instead of logging, to put up signs along the trails, to bring supplies up to maintain the warming hut on Amabilis [correction: we don't snowmobile supplies to the warming hut; Nick and his crew take care of that when it's needed] , and to clear out potential flooding spots along the trail. Cabin Creek Logging--the Word from the USFS

 Here is the official notification from the USFS and State Parks about the logging at Cabin Creek. This was posted on Facebook last month and it looks like, from all we've seen, Forterra really did stop the logging this weekend, as promised. That's excellent news, and all we need now is a big blast of snow for Nick to work his magic!
